Tolsta Community Development Limited
Last updated 17 October 2011
Tolsta Community Development Limited (TCDL) was set up in August 2005 to progress community development projects for the benefit of the villages of North Tolsta, New Tolsta and Glen Tolsta.
TCDL has worked closely with the local community to plan to deliver activities to retain population in the area and attract new people; to reduce fuel poverty and provide affordable housing. These findings have been incorporated in the Tolsta Community Plan, which forms part of a wider Broadbay Development Plan.
TCDL hope to increase the environmental sustainability of the community by reducing identified fuel poverty by 30% by 2013 by having TEAS undertake referred home energy audits and arranging for energy insulation improvements to be made. As well as being offered a personal home visit they will receive a tailored pack of energy efficiency advice. This will assess their fuel poverty rating pre-insulation and post-insulation. All clients will receive benefit and tariff checks and where eligible be assessed and referred for special care tariff. By combining energy efficiency advice with income and tariff advice and installing insulation measures, we are addressing all areas of the fuel poverty triangle and in turn remove those most at risk from severe fuel poverty and fuel poverty.
We have recently delivered a large quantity of energy bags to representatives of TCDL and some photos are shown below.
